The Other Side Reviews Dives Into “Waterfall”

Press Feature: The Other Side Reviews Dives Into "Waterfall"

It’s always a privilege when a publication takes the time to truly understand the intent behind our music. We were thrilled to see The Other Side Reviews feature our single “Waterfall,” offering a deep analysis of both the sound and the message.

The review highlights the diverse influences that shape our sound—from the classic rock of Deep Purple and The Beatles to the grunge and alt-rock energy of Nirvana and Radiohead. Writer Nicole Mendes noted that while our previous track “Reaper” leaned into a hazy 80s post-punk vibe, “Waterfall” brings a more “modern-day rock meets grunge” tone.

One of our favorite takeaways was her description of the arrangement as a “nostalgic sentimentality within a contemporary rock frenzy.” It’s that balance between the “old-school flair” and current rock energy that we strive for in every session.

Finding Optimism in Vulnerability

The review also touched on the emotional weight of the track. While it leans into a “melancholic rock” space with themes of alienation and distress, the piece highlights that beneath the surface, it is a song of optimism and empowerment. As we shared with the blog, “Waterfall” is about the struggle to find a sense of belonging in a world where you may feel like an outsider, and charting your own path rather than conforming. We love that the review picked up on the “intimate intensity” of the vocal performance and how it elegantly explores human fragility.
